US DNC postpones 2020 convention due to coronavirus pandemic

The United States Democratic National Committee (DNC) will postpone its nominating convention from July to August over the coronavirus pandemic, DNC officials said on Thursday.

The convention will be held on August 17 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, about a week before the Republican Party’s convention.

The postponement comes just days after former vice president and likely nominee Joe Biden called for the convention to be moved due to the coronavirus pandemic.
